This coming May, Guyanese at home and abroad will reflect on the nation’s achievements and accomplishments – or lack therefore – for over the past 50 yrs. This retrospective analysis should augur well as we, individually and collectively, learn from the past and endeavor to grasp opportunities in the present to forge new paths for the future. We encourage your participation in the commemoration activities being celebrated in Guyana, as well as in the activities in New York for the Guyanese diaspora. The week-long program in New York takes place between June 4th and June 10th and provides Guyanese in the diaspora, particularly those unable to travel home for this memorable occasion, an opportunity to participate in the celebration.
But first, the President and Executive Board of COFONA express a sincere ‘THANK YOU’ to our members, friends, and well-wishers for your financial support and in-kind contributions. We continue to marvel at the dedication of those who hail from the town and share an interest in making a difference. We seek your input in generating and promoting new initiatives and devising meaningful programs to enhance the lives of the present and future generations.
We continue to encourage you to participate in activities, volunteer your time, attend fund raisers, and join us at our meetings to implement programs to address the long-term needs of our hometown.
Thank you for your continued support!
Sincerely yours,
Leonard C. Lewis, President
