Sandra McKenzie (Corry) a native of Stanleytown, New Amsterdam, attended the Berbice Educational Institute and then the New Amsterdam Technical Institute. In 1976 she joined the Guyana Defence Force, where she worked at the Pay Office and the Culture Corp. Sandra migrated to the USA in 1979. In 1994 she obtained her bachelor degree in Nursing (RN, BSN) at LIU.
Sandra joined the US Army in 2003 where she worked with the Nursing Corp. Captain Sandra McKenzie was assigned to Tripler Army Hospital in Hawaii. She is now deployed to Afghanistan from June 2012 to March 2013.
Captain Sandra McKenzie is married to Kingsel McKenzie for 36 years (former soldier of the Guyana Defence Force and former soldier of the US Army). She is the mother of three children, Karen Berry, Jennifer Joseph and Kevin McKenzie. The entire family served in the US Army. She is also a proud grandmother of three. Sandra’s permanent residence is Atlanta, Georgia. We all wish her well as she celebrates another milestone on July 13, 2012.
